programming | gimp
when i began to do my daily work with linux instead of windows,
i discovered the
gimp
(gnu image manipulation program)
- not exactly photoshop, but almost. it's really easy to create
beautiful images once you've accepted the unix-like interface (many
windows, only popup menus). the following pics aren't really that
original or impressive, but perhaps you'll catch the spirit and start
creating things on your own. btw, gimp is also available for windows.

gradient geneva
|
some years ago, i visited geneva (esp. the cern laboratory) with school. i took this image,
applied three concentric alpha gradient fills, and that's the result.

okay, this probably would have been easier with povray / 3dsmax et al., but it's nice
being able to do it in old-fashioned 2d anyway.

this one reminds me of total annihilation ... core vs arm anyone?

more to come...
lost in a world of doubt and insecurity
nothing that you hold sacred, nothing you believe
your life is a contradiction
while you thrive on manipulation
i fight to just hold on to what i believe
